I have always been interested in social history and archiving as an embodiment of individual and collective narratives. This project is my visual response to researching within the Theatre Royal Stratford East archive.
The challenge was to explore the vast subject matter and uncover narratives that might convey a vivid sense of the theatre’s heritage.
Inspired by Victorian playbills I created a series of posters and a booklet. They are intended as a proposal for theatre merchandise, as there is no access to the archive for the public.
